December had again the smell of christmas in the air. Santa brought a cute litte christmas tree to the lab. But also out lab team wasn’t shy of going with the christmas vibe (as you can see in the pictures). We concluded the month with our annual christmas dinner before the old polaroid camera blew away all seriousness.

New Phd student joins the group. Lydia has a strong background in pharmaceutical technology and biomedicinal chemistry. Combining these skills, she is now working on new biopolymer-based nanoparticles. Lydia studied Biomedicinal Chemistry in Mainz, worked on her diploma project in Hamburg and graduated in October 2014.

Denise presented a poster about her PhD work on “Dynamic Polysaccharide based Carrier Systems for the Delivery of RNA and DNA” She was also selected for the Young Investigator Presentations (only 6 abstracts out of 138 were chosen to give a short talk) Congratulations Denise!!

For this years summer group outing we joined again our friends from the Helm group. We picked the hottest day of June to start off with some sweaty rounds of laser tag, before we had a nice picnic in the park followed by a bit more relaxing round of minigolf. (more pictures after the click)
