    I can’t get enough of this! Look at this 3D visualization of a synapse, recently published by german scientists in Science (B.G. Wilhelm et al. Science 2014, 344, 1023-1028. DOI: 10.1126/science.125288)

    For this years summer group outing we joined again our friends from the Helm group. We picked the hottest day of June to start off with some sweaty rounds of laser tag, before we had a nice picnic in the park followed by a bit more relaxing round of minigolf. (more pictures after the click)

    New diploma student joins the group. Benni will work on his thesis to finish his Diploma of Biomedicinal Chemistry at the University of Mainz. As an avid fan of comics we anticipate that he absorbs some of the superpowers and funnels them into his work on biodegradable nanoparticles for the safe transport of Kryptonite RNA/DNA.   • Peter wins the 2014 Innovation Prize in Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry (GDCh/DPhG)

    The award was given during the 2014 “Frontiers in Medicinal Chemistry” congress in Tübingen. The prize acknowledges innovative scientific achievements in the areas of medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry and is jointly awarded by the Medicinal Chemistry Division of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) and the Pharmaceutical/Medicinal Chemistry Division of the German Pharmaceutical Society (DPhG).     New research fellow joins the group. Ilaria graduated 2013 from the University of Trieste in Italy and has a master in medical biotechnology. Her expertise lies in the synthesis and analysis of bioactive membranes and nano particulate biomaterials based on polysaccharides. Welcome in Germany and good luck with your experiments!
